EuCheMS Conference on Molten Salts and Ionic Liquids

In 1966, the first EUCHEM Conference on Molten Salts took place in Norway and the conference series continued to run in even years until 2004, when a paradigm shift in thinking occurred. In 2006, the molten salt and ionic liquid communities joined forces for the first time, and the EUCHEM Conference on Molten Salts was relaunched as the EUCHEM Conference on Molten Salts and Ionic Liquids.

EUCHEM 2012 is thus only the 4th Conference on Molten Salts and Ionic Liquids, but it is the 24th conference in the original series of EUCHEM molten salts meetings.

The merging of molten salt and ionic liquid fields was an inevitable, natural progression, with EUCHEM 2012, once again, serving as a unique platform for molten salt and ionic liquid scientists to share and exchange knowledge as well as ideas and experience.
