Angewandte Chemie 15/2017: Scholarly Integrity

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, M. Blackburn et al. review metal fluorides as analogues for studies on phosphoryl transfer enzymes. How can they be used to explore how hydrogen-bond networks provide a core for enzyme catalysis? In a Minireview, P. I. Arvidsson et al. summarize the role of sulfonamides in medicinal and agricultural chemistry. In their Editorial, J. S. Francisco, U. Hahn, and H. Schwarz discuss prerequisites and consequences of scholarly integrity.

In the Communications section, H. Zuilhof et al. describe the formation of atomically flat organic layers on mica to produce biofunctionalizable surfaces (see picture). Y. Murata et al. obtained a stable, soluble, and crystalline supramolecular system with a triplet ground state, and H. W. Roesky et al. present an electrophilic carbene-anchored silylene-phosphinidene.
