In this issue, J. Hofkens et al. review methyltransferase-directed labeling of biomolecules and its applications. What efforts have been made toward the development of AdoMet analogues with the aim of transferring moieties other than simple methyl groups? In a Minireview, P. J. Chirik summarizes carbon–carbon bond formation in weak ligand fields, especially the use of open-shell transition-metal cataysts. E. J. M. Hensen et al. and B. F. Chmelka et al. correspond on layered silicates and zeolitic nanosheets vs. non-topotactic transformation of silicate nanolayers into mesostructured zeolite frameworks during crystallization.

In the Communications section, H. A. Lashuel et al. describe how mutant exon 1 huntingtin aggregation is regulated by structural changes and crosstalk (see picture). J. Zhu et al. developed an oxadiazolone strategy for rhodium(III)-catalyzed synthesis of primary pyridinyl amines, and S. Wang et al. found that conjugated polymer nanoparticles augment the photosynthesis of chloroplasts.
