The Angewandte Author Profiles celebrate an author’s 10th, 25th, 50th, or 100th article in the journal since 2000. This month, Kazuaki Ishihara and Qi-Lin Zhou have had their 10th papers published, while Armido Studer and Barry Trost are celebrating their 25th and 30th papers, respectively.

Barry M. Trost, Stanford University, USA:

My best investment was reading the scientific literature to broaden my horizons into areas that I would not have otherwise discovered, and which has led me to explore avenues of research that have proven so powerful.

Armido Studer, University of Münster, Germany:

My favorite part of my work is to tell my co-workers that their work has resulted in a paper that has been accepted for publication.

Kazuaki Ishihara, Nagoya University, Japan:

My favorite saying is “Simple is best” (Occam’s razor).

Qi-Lin Zhou, Nankai University, Tianjin, China:

The most important thing I learned from my parents is persistence, especially when things are difficult.
