In this week's Review, U. Kortz et al. discuss noble metals in polyoxometalates. What are the characteristics of the novel class of polyoxometalates with noble-metal addenda atoms? In the Communications section, H. Waldmann et al. report on one-pot syntheses of highly functionalized chiral annulated piperidines. C. Tisné et al. show how the conformational capture of a riboswitch by its ligand can be visualized by using fluorinated diamines as reporters for ¹⁹F NMR. L. Prodi et al. investigated the temperature-dependent fluorescence of Cu₅ clusters and found it to be suitable for precision temperature measurements in life and materials science.
