Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, D. W. Stephan and G. Erker review the chemistry of frustrated Lewis pairs. How can they be used to activate small molecules or even to develop new reactions? The Highlight deals with electrochemical C–H amination (S. R. Waldvogel and S. Möhle).

In the Communications section, M. N. Tran and D. M. Chenoweth present photoelectrocyclization as an activation mechanism for live-cell imaging probes (see picture). T. W. Muir et al. provide insights into the spatial regulation of a methyltransferase by using a chromatin surrogate. S. P. Cooper and D. I. Booker-Milburn introduce a palladium(II)-catalyzed C–H activation cascade sequence for polyheterocycle formation, and Z. Zhou et al. succeeded in the introduction of graphene into rechargeable Li-CO2 batteries.
