Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, Z. Lin et al. review germanium-based nanomaterials for rechargeable batteries. What is the recent progress in this field and what future research directions should be investigated? The Highlight deals with dinitrogen cleavage and functionalization beyond early transition metals (M. J. Bezdek and P. J. Chirik).

In the Communications section, R.-S. Liu et al. describe mesoporous silica particles with high stability and wide color gamut that can be used for backlight displays (see picture). T. Clark et al. present a three-site mechanism for agonist/antagonist selective binding to vasopressin receptors, and J. F. Hartwig et al. succeeded in the trifluoromethylation of arylsilanes with [(phen)CuCF3].
