In this issue, the 2015 Nobel Laureates in Physiology or Medicine present their lectures in the area of therapies against infections: William C. Campbell on the simplicity of ivermectin, Satoshi Ōmura on the origins and impact of the avermectins, and Youyou Tu on artemisin and traditional Chinese medicine.

In the Communications section, R. G. Cordon et al. present a synthesis of calcium(II) amidinate precursors for atomic layer deposition (see picture). M. M. Sung et al. observed charge separation and a space-charge region in single-crystal P3HT/C60 heterojunction nanowires. A. Chilkoti et al. describe a modular method for the synthesis of site-specific protein-polymer therapeutics. C. Murray et al. measured rate constants for reactions between Criegee intermediates and HCl and HNO3, and discuss the implications for atmospheric chemistry.
