Angewandte Chemie 36/2016: Directing Chemistry

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, J.-Q. Yu et al. review amide directing groups for C–H functionalization. How can N-methoxy amide moieties be used not only with Pd catalysts, but also Rh and Ru? In a Minireview, S. Schulz et al. provide a guide to beryllium chemistry. The Highlight deals with the remote C–H functionalization by transannular palladium catalysis (S. De Sarkar).

In the Communications section, T. Elsaesser et al. examine the role of ultrafast solvent fluctuations for the Zundel cation H5O2+ (see picture). S. Jon et al. present bilirubin nanoparticles for anticancer therapy and drug delivery, and H. Wang et al. prepared a dual-phase ceramic membrane with high H2 permeation flux by precursor autoseparation.
