The Journal of the Chinese Chemical Society was founded by The Chemical Society Located in Taipei in 1954, and is the oldest general chemistry journal in Taiwan. It is strictly peer-reviewed and welcomes review articles, full papers, notes and communications written in English. The scope of the Journal of the Chinese Chemical Society covers all major areas of chemistry: organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, physical chemistry, and materials science. The journal recently commemorated its 60th volume with a special issue.

New Editor-in-Chief of the J
ournal of the Chinese Chemical Society

We are pleased to announce Professor Yu-Tai Tao of the Academia Sinica as the new Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Chinese Chemical Society as of September 1, 2014. Prof. Tao succeeds Prof. Yu Wang of the National Taiwan University, who had served as Editor-in-Chief since 2006.

Yu-Tai Tao is a Distinguished Research Fellow at the Institute of Chemistry, Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan. He received his PhD in 1981 from the University of Rochester, New York, USA. After two years of postdoctoral research in Harvard University, he started his academic career at Academia Sinica in 1984 and has been there since. His research focuses on organic electronic materials and devices, surface chemistry, molecular thin films.

Prof. Tao is supported by a newly assembled team of Associate Editors who cover the principal areas of chemistry, as well as by an Editorial Board and an International Editorial Advisory Board.
