Hydrocracking Catalyst Development

Hydrocracking Catalyst Development

Author: ChemistryViews.org

Rive Technology and Zeolyst International have signed a joint development agreement to deploy Rive’s Molecular Highway Zeolite technology in hydrocracking catalyst applications within the petroleum refining segment. Under the deal, both companies will further develop, manufacture, and market hydrocracking catalysts for the refining industry.

Refining catalysts, made from mesostructured zeolites, show higher selectivity and reduce the production of heavy bottoms and coke compared to conventional methods. This allows refiners to increase fuel production by processing heavier crudes.

Rive is owned by Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures, Mitsui Global Investment, The Blackstone Group, Charles River Ventures, Advanced Technology Ventures, and Nth Power. Zeolyst International is a partnership between PQ Corporation and CRI/Criterion that produces zeolite powders, catalysts, and adsorbents.
