For over 30 years, Nikon holds its annual Small World contest. It rewardes the world's best photomicrographers who make critically important scientific contributions to life sciences, bio-research, and materials science. The deadline for entries is April 30, 2012.
This year's winners who were selected from more than 2000 photos include images of a dinosaur bone, a microchip, a mouse nerve, and HeLa cells.
