Much Water Joke

A Chemistry Professor is explaining a reaction for synthesis of an organic compound. The Professor gives the general procedure for doing the experiment:

Put “A” in a beaker then add “B” and heat for 10 minutes. Now add “C” and stir for 5 minutes. Cool for an hour.
Then add this reaction mixture in to “much” water so that the compound will precipitate out for filtration.

The student starts searching for “much” water in the laboratory. They could not find it anywhere in the laboratory and goes to the Professor and says: “Professor, I searched every nook and corner in the laboratory for “much” water. I could find “well water”, “sea water”, “tap water”, “distilled water”, “double distilled water”, “conductivity water”, “salt water” “hot water”, and “cold water” but not “much water”.

Then the Professor:
