Wiley-VCH Breakfast Symposium: Empowering Women in Chemistry

What does a fair research and publishing landscape look like?

Guest speakers Professors Sonja Herres-Pawlis (RWTH Aachen), Doris Kunz (Universität Tübingen), Ulrike Kramm (TU Darmstadt), and Dr. Hildegard Nimmesgern (Frankfurt) will share their unique perspectives as a basis for stimulating discussion. Video messages from female researchers worldwide will also be broadcast.

Most importantly, we want to hear from you:

  • Have you wondered why the majority of speakers at conferences are men?
  • Why are there so few female professors of chemistry?
  • Is it challenging to have a career in academia and be a mother?
  • Do you perceive a gender bias in publishing?

Our goal is to empower the next generation of women in chemistry.

Join us – all are welcome to discuss key challenges for female chemists. Register by 17 January 2020 at
The event is free of charge for all attendees and breakfast will be provided.
