Expecting legal restrictions due to the Covid19 pandemic to be still in effect in September, the committee recently decided to change the program of the conference to a virtual only format.

The event is being organized as a joint event at two locations, Darmstadt (1st – 3rd September 2021) and Munich (13rd -17th September 2021) – GASB being the organizer of the Darmstadt program and the joint study group of GBM, GDCh and DECHEMA organizing the Munich program.

The programme in Munich will feature current research from various fields of synthetic biology:

  • Agricultural and environmental applications
  • Automation, bioinformatics, data science, and systems biology
  • Biomedical applications
  • Industrial applications
  • Methods and technologies (protein engineering, optogenetics, xenobiology, genetic circuits, molecular biosensors, genome editing & synthesis)
  • SynBioArt
  • Smart Materials and synthetic protocells
