Giving scientific professionals a platform to present, publish, discuss and exhibit the most exciting research discoveries and technologies in chemistry and its related disciplines. The meeting will facilitate networking opportunities, career development and placement, and provide companies an opportunity to exhibit products and services to a targeted audience.


The Exposition will give attendees the chance to meet more than 250 exhibitors, many of whom are showcasing new technological developments. A number of exhibitors also offer free workshops during the meeting so attendees can learn more about these state-of-the-art technologies.

Drugs, Drug Candidates, and New Targets at the Interface of Medicinal and Inorganic Chemistry

Metalloproteins represent an important therapeutic target class because of their involvement in a diverse range of biological processes, such as protein matrix degradation and gene regulation, implicated in human disease. There are numerous drugs in the clinic that address metalloproteins; examples include Captopril (ACE inhibitor used for the treatment of hypertension and heart failure), Vorinostat (HDAC inhibitor used to treat cutaneous T cell lymphoma), and Raltegravir (HIV integrase inhibitor). Given the success, it is unsurprising that metalloproteins have captured the imagination of the medicinal and bioinorganic chemistry communities.


ChemMedChem International Advisory Board member Seth Cohen (UC San Diego) and Zachary Sweeney (Denali Therapeutics) will be chairing a session at the 250th American Chemical Society National Meeting & Exposition (Boston, USA) entitled "Metalloprotein Inhibitors: Drugs, Drug Candidates, and New Targets at the Interface of Medicinal and Inorganic Chemistry". Among the speakers are ChemMedChem authors Christopher Schofield (University of Oxford), Abbas Walji (Merck Co Inc.), and of course, Seth Cohen.
