Angewandte Chemie 48/2018: Engage!

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, S.-H. Yu et al. review carbon-nanofiber aerogels and their chemo- and biosynthesis. What are their properties and potential applications? The Highlight deals with giant anomalous Hall effects in cobalt Kagome nets (R. Weihrich et al.). In his Guest Editorial, N. K. Garg advocates empowerment of students to innovate, and thereby engage in organic chemistry teaching.

In the Communications section, L. Barriault et al. describe hydrogen atom transfer reactions via photoredox-catalyzed chlorine atom generation (see picture). R. E. Moellering et al. conducted chemoproteomic profiling of phosphoaspartate modifications in prokaryotes. P. G. Pringle et al. succeeded in the synthesis of an inorganic triphenylphosphine, and M. Nakajima et al. report on enantioselective aldol reactions of unprotected carboxylic acids under phosphine oxide catalysis.
