Angewandte Chemie 51/2019: A Rich History

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, T. Hudlicky et al. review the history, biology, and synthesis of tetrodotoxin. How has it been isolated from puffer fish, structurally and biologically characterized, and eventually synthesized? The Minireview deals with room-temperature sulfur-based electrodes for sodium-ion batteries (Y. Cao et al.).

In the original research section, Y. Wu et al. describe a supported stabilized nickel catalyst for methane oxidation (see picture). D. G. Hall et al. show how high-throughput ligand screening enables access to synthetically versatile tertiary cyclobutylboronates. R. Wolf et al. report on the functionalization of pentaphosphorus cations by complexation. N. P. Kamat et al. present barcoding biological reactions with DNA-functionalized vesicles.
