Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, S. Torker et al. review the use of sulfonate N-heterocyclic carbene–copper complexes as catalysts for enantioselective syntheses. How do they help to create C–C, C–B, C–H, and C–Si bonds? The Minireviews deal with oligomeric cucurbituril complexes (D. Bardelang et al.) and high-performance aqueous Zn/organic batteries (Z. Tie, Z. Niu).

In the original research section, Q. Xu et al. present a MOF-mediated fabrication of a porous 3D superstructure of carbon nanosheets with ultrafine cobalt phosphide nanoparticles. O. Dopfer et al. investigated the optical spectrum of Au2+. Z. Liu et al. show how radiation-induced local hydroxylation enables remote release of functional molecules in tumors (see picture). M. C. Stuparu et al. succeeded in the mechanochemical synthesis of corannulene-based curved nanographenes.
