Angewandte Chemie 35/2021: The Sound of Chemistry

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, J. Wu et al. review light-promoted organic transformations that utilize carbon-based gas molecules as feedstocks, and P. W. Menezes et al. summarize strategies and perspectives for an energy-efficient hydrogen evolution reaction in alkaline media. The Minireview deals with separation and purification of hydrocarbons with porous media (Y. Wu, B. M. Weckhuysen), and A. S. Kashin and V. P. Ananikov highlight nanoscale advancements from catalysts and reagents to the restructuring of reaction media.

In the original research section, Z. Xie et al. describe the synthesis, structure, and reactivity of acid-free neutral oxoborane. C. Höbartner et al. found that RNA-cleaving deoxyribozymes differentiate methylated cytidine isomers in RNA. H.-C. Tai et al. investigated the materials engineering of violin soundboards by Stradivari and Guarneri (see picture). V. Mamane et al. succeeded in chalcogen-bonding catalysis with telluronium cations, and S. Ding et al. developed current density regulating lithium-metal deposition for long cycle life lithium-metal batteries.
