Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, J. S. Kahn and O. Gang review designer nanomaterials obtained through programmable assembly. M. Calderón et al. discuss the status of nanocarriers for skin applications in a further review.

In the original research section, V. V. Novikov et al. report an equilibrium between high / low spin crossover iron(II) dinuclear helicates detected by paramagnetic NMR spectroscopy. Y. H. Rhee et al. describe sequential metal catalysis towards 7-oxostaurosporine and its non-natural septanose analogue. F. Dielmann et al. synthesized photoswitchable nitrogen superbases to use light for reversible carbon dioxide capture (see picture). E. A. Curtis et al. discovered a supernova: a deoxyribozyme that catalyzes a chemiluminescent reaction.
