In a Review, A. Mishra and P. Bäuerle see small-molecule organic semiconductors on the move: How can new materials be developed on the basis of structure-property correlations of known systems? The Minireview by C. Ottmann et al. is also about small molecules: How can they stabilize protein–protein interactions? The Highlights deal with the opening of 1,2,3-triazole rings by ultrasound (Y. Lin and Q. Wang) and chiral nematic mesoporous carbon (T. Asefa).

In the Communications section, J. A. Lercher et al. show how nickel nanoclusters can be used to transform microalgae oil into biodiesel. A. I. Boldyrev et al. present decacoordinated molecular wheels Ta©B10 and Nb©B10. K. Muñiz et al. succeeded in the palladium-catalyzed intermolecular C–H amidation of C(sp3) groups. Q.-X. Tong et al. describe a robust, inexpensive, and efficient light-harvesting system (see picture).
