H. Hopf and M. S. Sherburn review how dendralenes branch out: How do cross-conjugated oligoenes allow for the rapid generation of molecular complexity? In a Minireview, J. W. Chin et al. discuss reprogramming the genetic code from triplet to quadruplet codes. The Highlights deal with the detection of hydrogen sulfide in biological systems by means of fluorescent probes (W. Wang et al.) and light-driven muscles (G. M. Spinks).

M. Fernández-García et al. succeeded in monitoring the storage and release of oxygen under cyclic redox conditions on a nanoscale interface by means of time-resolved X-ray diffraction. S. Chen et al. obtained colloidal photonic crystal anisotropic supraparticles by using triphasic microfluidics. M. Fujita et al. present crystalline reagent capsules prepared by installing CH3NCS into networked molecular capsules (see picture). C. R. Bertozzi et al. report on thiacycloalkynes for copper-free click chemistry.
