The Angewandte Author Profiles celebrate an author’s 10th, 25th, 50th, or 100th article in the journal since 2000. This month, Kiyotomi Kaneda and Zuowei Xie have had their 10th paper published and Max Malacria and Helmut Schwarz both celebrate their 25th papers:

Max Malacria, Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris 6), France:

The greatest scientific advance of the last decade was published at the very beginning of the 21st century: the first draft sequence and analysis of the human genome.

Kiyotomi Kaneda, Osaka University, Japan:

The best advice I have ever been given is from my supervisor Professor S. Teranishi, who recommended that I ask myself “do you enjoy chemistry?” when I got depressed.

Zuowei Xie, The Chinese University of Hong Kong:

The most exciting things about my research are the unexpected results of my co-workers.

Helmut Schwarz, Technical University of Berlin, Germany:

If I could have dinner with three famous people from history, they would be Nelson Mandela, James Franck, and Lise Meitner.
