In this issue, D. Bourissou et al. review the reactivity of gold complexes in elementary organometallic reactions. How does it extend beyond Lewis acid behavior and electrophilic activation? N. Sobel and C. Hess discuss nanostructuring of surfaces by means of atomic layer deposition in a Minireview. In his Editorial, J. S. Francisco points out the importance of international scientific collaborations.


In the Communications section, R. Kempe et al. describe a cobalt-catalyzed alkylation of aromatic amines by alcohols (see picture). M. Baldus et al. provide an insight into the supramolecular architecture of intact diatom biosilica by means of NMR spectroscopy. S. Woutersen et al. succeeded in the guanidinium-induced denaturation by breaking of salt bridges, and J. Huang et al. present a directed meta-selective bromination of arenes with ruthenium catalysts.
