In the Communications section, R. Dronskowski et al. present ε-TiO, a novel stable polymorph of titanium monoxide. A. A. Deniz et al. describe the asymmetric modulation of protein order–disorder transitions by phosphorylation and partner binding. W. Yang and J. Sun succeeded in an organocatalytic enantioselective synthesis of 1,4-dioxanes and other oxa-heterocycles by oxetane desymmetrization.
