In this issue, J. G. C. Veinot et al. review the synthesis, surface engineering, and applications of silicon nanocrystals and silicon–polymer hybrids. How did silicon enter the field of quantum dots? In a Minireview, S. Wang and X. Wang summarize recent work on imidazolate building blocks for CO2 capture and photochemical reduction. The Highlight deals with a chiral metal photocatalyst's architecture (A. G. Amador and T. P. Yoon).

In the Communications section, R. Antoine et al. report on the mass determination of entire amyloid fibrils by using mass spectrometry (see picture). B. G. Davis et al. describe an optimal synthetic glycosylation of a therapeutic antibody. L. Gan et al. show how selective multiamination of C70 leads to curved Ď€ systems, and P. J. Walsh et al. succeeded in palladium-catalyzed asymmetric allylic alkylations with toluene pronucleophiles.
