The scientist we are looking for this time made a tremendously important discovery in the field of biochemistry. He or she received well-deserved high honors for this scientific breakthrough. To this day, there is some controversy over contributions to this discovery by other researchers, who did not receive the same recognition.


Our scientist first studied physics, but never finished his or her Ph.D. in the field. During World War II, the person we are looking for helped to design magnetic naval mines. He or she was known among colleagues for his or her peculiar high-pitched laugh.
