In the Comunications section, M. A. Galindo et al. report on highly stable DNA that contains silver(I)-mediated base pairs (see picture). M. Nyman et al. discuss the chemistry of amphoteric aqueous hafnium clusters. A. Osuka et al. succeeded in the synthesis of di-peri-dinaphtoporphyrins by PtCl2-mediated cyclization, and A. Eychmüller et al. assembled all-inorganic colloidal nanocrystals into gels and aerogels.
