Aims and Scope

Pest Management Science is the international journal of research and development in crop protection and pest control. Since its launch in 1970, the journal has become the premier forum for papers on the discovery, application, and impact on the environment of products and strategies designed for pest management.

Topics
covered by the journal include:

  •  Applications of biotechnology and molecular biology relevant to pest management and crop, animal and public health
  • Biological control, biopesticides and integrated pest management (IPM)
  • Resistance of pests to management products and strategies
  • Synthesis, discovery, screening, structure/activity and biochemical mode of action of insecticides, herbicides, fungicides and growth regulators
  • Properties of new compounds; modelling and formulation studies, and application systems for their performance
  • Metabolism, degradation, field performance, environmental studies and safety in use of new and existing products
  • Naturally occurring materials for pest management
  • Genetic and ecological implications of pesticide use alone and with other methods of pest control
  • Protection of commodities
  • Toxicology, risk assessment and regulation

The journal may publish papers from scientific meetings of the SCI BioResources Group and from other selected international conferences and also lists of recently adopted BSI common names for pesticides.
