A series of weekly content ‘bundles’ of original and archival news videos and multimedia content – Chemistry Now – is produced by NBC News-NBC Learn partnering with the US National Science Foundation.

The multimedia content concentrates on revealing and explaining the presence and function of chemistry in everyday life and in the world around us. It aims to be distributed online to K-12 science teachers, and beyond schools into the community.


Since the beginning of the year, the following topics have been released:

  • structure and behavior of water in liquid form,
  • How chemistry transforms liquid milk into solid cheese,
  • Molecule structure and physical properties,
  • Single and double bonds,
  • chemistry in cooking meat,
  • chemistry of bread.
