Ekkehard Diemann, University of Bielefeld, Germany, celebrates his 75th birthday on January 12, 2019. Diemann's work focused on inorganic and analytical chemistry as well as chemical education.


Ekkehard Diemann studied chemistry at the Universities of Göttingen and Dortmund, Germany. He completed his Ph.D. in 1971 in Dortmund under the supervision of Achim Müller. In 1977, he joined the University of Bielefeld, Germany. Today, he is Honorary Professor and retired Academic Director there. He is a Member of the New York Academy of Sciences, the Leibniz Society, and the European Academy of Sciences.
