Bayer CropScience announced the completion of its purchase of Prophyta GmbH, Malchow, Germany, a leading supplier of microbial crop protection products headquartered. The acquisition includes Prophyta´s product portfolio, R&D laboratories, production and formulation facilities.

Prophyta, founded in 1992, provides customers well-established products primarily based on biological control agents. For example, its nematicide BioAct™ is available in 10 countries. Prophyta has developed a unique solid-state fermentation technology for production and bioprocess development of filamentous fungi. The company employs a total staff of approximately 30 full-time employees.
