BASF’s newest herbicide, Engenia™, was granted approval by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The product will be available for use on dicamba-tolerant soybean and cotton crops for the 2017 season in North America. The company aims for registrations in additional countries.
According to the company, Engenia is the most technologically advanced formulation of the active ingredient dicamba (pictured). The herbicide will provide growers the control of more than 200 broad-leaf weeds, including those resistant to glyphosate. The company says that Engenia will deliver improved on-target performance and reduced volatility through advanced formulation properties and stewardship practices.
