Macromolecular Rapid Communications Junior Researcher Award

The award recognizes innovative polymer scientists at the beginning of their independent career. It is given to outstanding young scientists exploring exciting new fields in chemistry, physics, and application of polymer systems. Eligible for the award are junior group leaders in Germany who do not hold a permanent position at the time of the nomination. The award consists of a 500 € prize, a presentation at the Macromolecular Colloquium in Freiburg, Germany (including travel grant up to 500 €), and the invitation to contribute an article featuring the awardee’s work to Macromolecular Rapid Communications.

EuChemS Gold Medal

The European Chemical Society (EuChemS) award recognizes exceptional achievements of one scientist working in the field of Chemistry in Europe. The nominee should be based in a country with a EuChemS member organisation at the time of the nomination. The winner will receive a commemorative gold medal and will give the opening lecture at the next European EuChemS Chemistry (EuChemS) Congress (ECC).

EuChemS Awards for Service

The European Chemical Society (EuChemS) award recognizes outstanding commitment with regard to fostering chemistry and molecular sciences in Europe, and the goals of EuChemS. Place and date for the award ceremony are agreed with the awardee.

EuChemS Lecture Award

The European Chemical Society (EuChemS) award recognizes major achievements of one junior scientist working in Chemistry in a country with a EuChemS member organisation. The nominee should be based in a country with a EuChemS member organisation at the time of the nomination. The winner will receive a commemorative statuette and a certificate and will give a pleanary lecture at the next European EuChemS Chemistry (EuChemS) Congress (ECC)

Otto Hahn Prize

The Otto Hahn Prize is jointly awarded every two years by the City of Frankfurt a. M., the German Physical Society (DPG), and the German Chemical Society (GDCh). In 2023, the prize recognizes special contributions in the field of chemistry. The award consists of a medal and is endowed with € 50,000. The prize will be awarded during a ceremony at the St. Paul’s church (Paulskirche) in Frankfurt, Germany.

Arfvedson Schlenk Prize

The German Chemical Society (GDCh) prize recognizes special contributions in the field of lithiumchemistry. The award consists of a medal, a certificate, and is endowed with € 7,500.  The prize will be awarded during a ceremony at WiFo

EurJIC-Wöhler Young Investigator Prize 2023

Sponsored by Chemistry Europe

The award of the Wöhler Vereinigung für Anorganische Chemie (Wöhler Association for Inorganic Chemistry), a division of the GDCh (German Chemical Society), and the European Journal of Inorganic Chemistry (EurJIC) honors a young scientist of any nationality who has completed a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in chemistry for an excellent scientific publication in a field within inorganic chemistry. The selected paper, in which the candidate appears as correspondence author, should have been published within two years before the nomination. The nominee will be an independent researcher, but not yet in an established academic or industrial position. Eligible for nomination are researchers in industry or academia with responsibility in an appropriate field. The prize is endowed with EUR 1500 and a lecture on their research at the Symposium “Highlights in Inorganic Chemistry” of the GDCh-Wissenschaftsforum Chemie 2023.

Future Insight™ Prize 2023

Sponsored by Merck KGaA

The award aims to stimulate innovative solutions to solve some of humanities greatest problems and to realize the dreams for a better tomorrow in the areas of health, nutrition, and energy. The EUR 1,000,000 prize is being awarded in 2023 to pioneers in the topic early pandemic warning system.

Paracelsus Prize

The Swiss Chemical Society (SCS) award recognizes outstanding scientific research in the field of chemistry at an international level. Winners are chosen irrespective of nationality. SCS membership is not a requirement. The prize consists of CHF 20’000 and a medal in gold.
