The chemist we are looking for this time studied at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, and received their Ph.D. with “summa cum laude” under Max Trautz with a thesis “On the decay equilibrium of nitrosyl chloride”.
Our chemist was the first female researcher at a major German chemical company. She only worked in industry for a short time because she married soon after joining the company and the duties of a wife and a professional were generally deemed to be incompatible at the time.
