Abstract BACKGROUND Susceptible tomato cv. Durinta, ungrafted or grafted onto cv. Aligator resistant rootstock, both followed by the susceptible melon cv. Paloma, ungrafted or grafted onto Cucumis metuliferus BGV11135, and in the reverse order, were cultivated from 2015 to 2017 in the same plots in a plastic greenhouse, infested or not with Meloidogyne incognita. Newly synthesized 1,2,3‐benzotriazine‐4‐one derivatives substituted at position‐3 were characterized by various analytical and spectral techniques. An Alternative Approach to the Synthesis of Parvistone C

A stereoselective total synthesis of parvistone C, an oxygenated natural styryllactone, has been accomplished in excellent overall yield by employing asymmetric aldol reaction, asymmetric epoxidation and regioselective epoxide ring opening as the key steps. Our synthetic strategy is very simple, concise and no use of protecting groups.

The application of a straightforward biocatalytic technology for the reduction of racemic 2‐monosubstituted 3‐thiazolines, which are easily prepared via Asinger‐multicomponent reaction, is reported. The biocatalytic reduction yields racemic 2‐monosubstituted 3‐thiazolidines, which are difficult to be prepared by means of classic chemical routes, in moderate to high yields.
