Oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane over mixed metal oxide catalysts: Autothermal or cooled tubular reactor design?

Abstract A kinetic model consistent with experimentally measured reaction orders for the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane (ODHE) over a MoVTeNbO catalyst is developed and applied to compare autothermal and multi‐tubular reactor designs for the same. The results suggest that autothermal reactor configurations are more favorable compared to multi‐tubular ones for this highly exothermic reaction, and become even more so with increasing active site density. Synthesis of Quinoline‐4‐carboxamides and Quinoline‐4‐carboxylates via a Modified Pfitzinger Reaction of N‐Vinylisatins

Abstract A synthetic approach for the accelerated assembly of quinoline‐4‐carboxamide and quinoline‐4‐carboxylate nuclei is presented. The methodology is based on the rearrangement of N‐vinylisatins promoted by different types of amines (or ethanol) in a Pfitzinger‐type mechanism that, in turn, builds the quinoline ring system. The reaction took place only by heating the starting materials in ethanol, without any additive.

Abstract BACKGROUND The study compared the growth performance, carcass characteristics and meat quality of steers of Xuanhan yellow cattle, Simmental crossbreed cattle (Simmental × Xuanhan yellow cattle) and cattle‐yak (Jersey × yak).
