The spectra analysis and microwave dielectric properties of [Ca0.55(Sm1‐xBix)0.3]MoO4 ceramics

Published: 13 February 2019

Author(s): Shu‐Zhao Hao, Di Zhou, Li‐Xia Pang

Abstract A series of low‐temperature firing ceramics with scheelite structure, [Ca0.55(Sm1‐xBix)0.3]MoO4 (x = 0.2–0.95), were prepared via solid‐state reaction. The sintering temperature ranges from 660 to 760°C. A standard tetragonal scheelite phase was formed without secondary phase. When the x value was 0.95, the temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (τf) moved to a near zero value (−2.1 ppm/°C) with a dielectric constant 13.7 and the quality factor (Qf) of 33 200 GHz. The Raman...

Non‐crystalline YVO4 fiber

Published: 13 February 2019

Author(s): Bijiao Lan, Yongze Yu, Xusheng Xiao, Xu Feng, Junzhou Tang, Haitao Guo, Zhenping Wu, Shifeng Zhou

Abstract Yttrium vanadate (YVO4) is recognized as one of the leading candidates in photonics that can support Raman laser operation and host various types of active dopants. However, it is normally used in the form of single crystal. Here, we report the successful fabrication of non‐crystalline YVO4 fiber using the melt‐in‐tube technique for the first time. Benefiting from the prevention of unexpected element diffusion, the fabricated fiber exhibits a perfect core‐clad configuration and the...

Insight into the structures, melting points, and mechanical properties of NbSi2 from first‐principles calculations

Published: 13 February 2019

Author(s): Shuang‐Lun Wang, Yong Pan

Abstract Studies are carried out on the equilibrium structural, mechanical properties, and melting points of NbSi2 with four ground‐state crystal structures (C40, C11b, C54, and C49) using first‐principles approach. By means of the calculated formation enthalpies and phonon dispersion, it is found that these NbSi2 phases are thermodynamically and dynamically stable. C54‐NbSi2 is uncovered to possess the lowest energy and formation enthalpy, implying that it is expected to be the most favorite...

One Dimensional Enhanced Anhydrous Proton Conduction in Well Defined Molecular Columns Induced by Non‐Covalent Interactions

Published: 13 February 2019

Author(s): Avneesh Kumar, Wojciech Pisula, Klaus Müllen

Abstract 1D anhydrous proton conduction is enhanced significantly in ionic channels created by self‐assembly of functionalized organic phosphonic acid and aromatic heterocyclic 1,2,4‐triazole molecules. This study reveals high proton conduction in one dimension through a well‐defined supramolecular architecture in which two different molecules undergo host–guest synergy and self‐assemble to provide two‐fold advantages: 1) formation of the ionic channels and 2) higher proton conduction in the...

Highly Resolved Pure‐Shift Spectra on a Compact NMR Spectrometer

Published: 13 February 2019

Author(s): Thomas Castaing‐Cordier, Dylan Bouillaud, Paul Bowyer, Olivier Gonçalves, Patrick Giraudeau, Jonathan Farjon

Abstract Benchtop NMR spectrometers experience a great success for a wide range of applications. However, their performance is highly limited by peak overlaps. Emerging “pure‐shift NMR” (PS NMR) methods have been intensively used at high field to enhance the resolution by homodecoupling strategies. Here, different PS methods have been implemented on a compact NMR spectrometer operating at 43 MHz. Among the PS methods, the recent PSYCHE scheme appears more sensitive than Zangger‐Sterk (ZS)...
