With an article, you want to show that you have got significant results, your ideas are supported by your data, and what the alternative explanation is, if not. You want to get your idea across to other scientists from the same field, to scientists from other fields, to journalists, etc. To do so, think of who you are writing for in each part of your paper, and use simple and clear language, don’t bury your findings in technical jargon and rare words. Tell a story that is easy to follow. This increases the fluency for the reader, and helps the editors, the reviewers, and other readers to be able to really understand how important your work is.
