Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, R. M. Crooks et al. review bipolar electrochemistry: How can bipolar electrodes be used in sensors, or as mobile electrodes that can move freely in solution? R. van de Krol et al. discuss artificial leaves for photosynthesis in a Minireview. The Highlight by S. L. A. Andrade and O. Einsle deals with nitrate/nitrite exchangers in bacterial metabolism.

In the Communications section, J. A. Rodríguez-Velamazán et al. present the first pressure-induced solid-phase synthesis of a zeolite, namely microporous ITQ-50 (see picture). K. Suzuki et al. achieved the asymmetric total synthesis and stereochemical assignment of (−)-cavicularin. L. Qu et al. show how to prepare moisture-responsive graphene fibers by the positioned laser reduction of graphene oxide. W. Jones et al. succeeded in following phase transitions at crystal surfaces in real time by using atomic force microscopy.
