The scientist we are looking for this time first studied mining science, but worked as a chemist, mostly on the analysis of minerals. He or she discovered an element which is highly reactive and very important for applications as diverse as electronics, pyrotechnics, and pharmaceuticals.
A rare mineral was named after our chemist in honor of his or her contributions to mineralogy. He or she worked with a Swedish scientist who is considered to be one of the founders of modern chemistry.
