The Singapore National Institute of Chemistry (SNIC) regularly hosts international conferences (such as the 15th Asian Chemical Congress in 2013 and the 41st International Coordination Chemistry Conference in 2014) in partnership with local universities and research institutes. We offer subsidized registrations to our members and students, as well as a limited number of travel awards with subsidized registrations to overseas participants, especially those from developing countries, young researchers and students. SNIC also runs industry workshops in which subsidized rates also apply to members and students. Please check the appropriate conference and workshop websites for details. Such funding is generally and generously supported from different types of research grants widely available in Singapore, such as those from the Ministry of Education, all local universities (such as the National University of Singapore (NUS), and the Nanyang Technological University (NTU)), the National Research Foundation (NRF), and the Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR),etc. There are also ample funding opportunities in the universities and research institutes for academics, researchers and students to participate in all forms of international exchanges and internships. Ask your local institution for details. |
