Angewandte Chemie 11/2024: Efficiency and Safety

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, Lin Yuan et al. review organic fluorophores for imaging and sensing. Timothy Noël et al. summarize research on multiphasic continuous-flow reactors for handling gaseous reactants in organic synthesis to enhance the efficiency and safety of chemical processes. The Minireviews deal with catalytic protein inhibitors (Thomas Kodadek), the pentazolate anion in pentasil–zeolite architectures (Wenquan Zhang et al.), as well as two-dimensional metastable-phase oxides (Qi Shao et al.).

In the original research section, Ben Zhong Tang et al. present co-aggregation as a simple strategy for the preparation of fluorogenic tetrazine probes with on-demand fluorogen selection (see picture). Eduardo Peris et al. created a nanosized metallobox that shows guest shutteling. Shaojun Guo et al. harmonized enzyme-like cofactors to boost nanozyme catalysis, and Changwen Hu et al. built a fullerene-like niobovanadate cage from {(Nb)V5} pentagons.
