Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, Winald R. Kitzmann and Katja Heinze review charge-transfer and spin-flip states, and Hai-Long Jiang et al. summarize research on metal–organic frameworks for photocatalytic water splitting and CO2 reduction. The Minireviews deal with the regulation of spin states in oxygen electrocatalysis (Jie Zeng et al.) as well as complementary design in multicomponent electrocatalysts for electrochemical nitrogen reduction (Bin Ding et al.). In a Highlight, Paul J. Low points out work on excited-state mixed-valence complexes.

In the original research section, Zhi Zhu et al. present aptamer-LYTACs for targeted degradation of extracellular and membrane proteins (see picture). Ruben Martin et al. succeeded in the trifluoromethylation of carbonyl and unactivated olefin derivatives by C(sp3)–C bond cleavage. Xue Duan et al. describe a carbon-negative hydrogen production strategy: CO2-selective capture with H2 production. Arumugam Manthiram et al. developed an in situ interweaved binder framework to mitigate the structural and interphasial degradations of high-nickel cathodes in lithium-ion batteries.
