Angewandte Chemie 19/2024: Activation

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, Jin-Quan Yu et al. review palladium(II)-catalyzed C–H activation with bifunctional ligands. Christian Wolf et al. summarize strategies and applications in circular dichroism sensing. The Minireviews deal with photocatalytic upcycling and depolymerization of vinyl polymers (Athina Anastasaki et al.), mechanochemistry in soft-matter physics (Robert T. O’Neill, Roman Boulatov), as well as charge transfer dynamics in organic–inorganic hybrid heterostructures (Benjamin Dietzek-Ivanšić et al.).

In the original research section, Tatjana N. Parac-Vogt et al. describe cavity-directed syntheses of labile polyoxometalates for catalysis in confined spaces (see picture). Thomas Müller et al. present aluminagerma[5]pyramidanes, their formation and skeletal rearrangement. Kai Liu et al. succeeded in rational lithium salt molecule tuning for fast charging and discharging of lithium metal batteries. Naresh Kumar et al. investigated the mechanism of oxygen activation on bulk Au(111) surfaces by means of tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy.
