Angewandte Chemie 2/2024: Construction Materials

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, Liviu F. Chibotaru et al. review research to increase the magnetic blocking temperature of single-molecule magnets. Muhammad Kazim and Euna Yoo discuss the development of non-invasive imaging probes for cancer immunotherapy. The Minireviews deal with aldol condensations for the construction of organic functional materials (Wan Yue et al.), electrolyte interphases in aqueous batteries (Yiming Sui, Xiulei Ji), as well as DNA nanostructures in self-adjuvant carriers for highly efficient subunit vaccines.

In the original research section, Debabrata Maiti et al. describe combinatorial ligand-assisted simultaneous control of axial and central chirality in highly stereoselective C–H allylations. Mark Geoghegan et al. present a reversible water-based electrostatic adhesive. Da-Wei Fu et al. observed unusual thermal quenching of photoluminescence from an organic-inorganic hybrid [MnBr4]2−-based halide which was mediated by a crystalline–crystalline phase transition (see picture). Spencer P. Pitre succeeded in the vitamin-B12-photocatalyzed cyclopropanation of electron-deficient alkenes using dichloromethane as the methylene source.
