Angewandte Chemie 24/2023: Make a Difference

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, Crispin Lichtenberg et al. discuss the difference that charge makes for molecular ionic bismuth compounds, and Yan-Bing He et al. review the role of ion transport throughput in solid-state lithium batteries. The Minireviews deal with dopant-free NiOx nanocrystals for hole transport in perovskite optoelectronics (Wallace C. H. Choy et al.) as well as strong sulfur anchoring of metal catalysts on carbon supports (Hai-Wei Liang et al.). Abhishek Dey highlights work on bimetallic cooperativity and hydrogen bonding for CO2 reduction.

In the original research section, Zhao-Qing Liu et al. describe the activation of lattice oxygen in spinel ZnCo2O4 through filling oxygen vacancies with fluorine for electrocatalytic oxygen evolution. Frauke Gräter et al. found that DOPA residues endow collagen with radical scavenging capacity. Qingquan Lu et al. succeeded in paired oxidative and reductive catalysis by breaking the potential barrier of electrochemical C(sp3)–H alkenylation. Lukas J. Gooßen et al. achieved manganese(I)-catalyzed ortho C–H allylation of benzoic acids (see picture).
