Angewandte Chemie 48/2023: Control

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, Gerrit J. Poelarends et al. review enzymatic oxy- and amino-functionalization in biocatalytic cascade synthesis. Shuai Zhang et al. discuss mechanisms of biomolecular self-assembly investigated through in situ observations of structures and dynamics. The Minireviews deal with H2 production in transition metal oxide based photocatalysts (Jorge Gascon et al.), processing aliphatic polycarbonate-based materials (Donald J. Darensbourg et al.), as well as controlled radical copolymerization toward well-defined fluoropolymers (Mao Chen et al.).

In the original research section, Hai-Long Jiang et al. show how the Pd location matters for control of the selectivity of the direct CO esterification over Pd@UiO-66. Erika Linde and Berit Olofsson succeeded in the synthesis of complex diarylamines through a ring-opening difunctionalization strategy. Yoshinari Sawama et al. present sulfonium salt reagents for the introduction of deuterated alkyl groups in drug discovery (see picture). Pau Farràs et al. expanded the range of biorthogonal tags for multiplex stimulated Raman scattering microscopy.
