Angewandte Chemie 14/2017: Principles and Prospects

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, R. D. Süssmuth and A. Mainz review principles and prospects of nonribosomal peptide synthesis. What about their bioactivities, biosynthesis pathways, and structural variations? In a Minireview, M. Vendrell et al. summarize the modern preparation of functional fluorophores. The Highlight deals with a strategy for asymmetric transformations (K. Zhao and D. Enders).

In the Communications section, D. H. Gracias et al. describe 3D surface molecular imaging of trapped single living cells by means of surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (see picture). H. Kitagawa et al. present mixed-valence nickel bis(azamacrocycle) compounds with ghost-leg-type sheets. J. Wang et al. succeeded in the copper(I)-catalyzed chemoselective coupling of cyclopropanols with diazoesters.
