In this issue, S. Park and S. Chang review catalytic dearomatizations of N-heteroatoms with silicon and boron compounds. The Highlight deals with photocatalysis of acceptorless dehydrogenation of benzofused saturated rings under ambient conditions. In his Guest Editorial, R. Fischer shares his thoughts about how to make sure first-year students feel the pulse of chemistry in lab courses.

In the Communications section, X. C. Zheng et al. discuss the surprising stability of larger Criegee intermediates on aqueous interfaces (see picture). I. Voigt et al. present high-flux molecular sieve membranes for gas separation. T. Tuttle et al. succeeded in the iridium-catalyzed formyl-selective deuteration of aldehydes, and H. Braunschweig et al. synthesized and trapped iminoboranes by M=B/C=N bond metathesis.
